Sclerotherapy

Treatment of Vein Disease

Sclerotherapy is a treatment that eliminates varicose veins. A solution is injected into the vein which will irritate the lining of the blood vessel, which causes it to collapse. The lining of the blood vessel sticks together and begins to clot. Blood that once went to that vein will be rerouted to healthier veins, and the collapsed vein will be reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fade.

Sclerotherapy is often considered the treatment for treatment of choice for small varicose veins. There are times when more than one Sclerotherapy treatment is necessary.
