Post-EVLA Treatment: Sclerotherapy Follow-Up
Why important to follow-up with Sclerotherapy treatment
Once you have completed your Endovenous Laser Ablation procedure for the treatment of your varicose veins, several follow-up Sclerotherapy sessions will be scheduled. This is an important step in your treatment process as it is used to address and terminate residual varicose veins that remain. This is part of the “Continuum of Therapy Approach” implemented by Physicians Vein Clinic. The procedure ensures that EVLA treated veins will not experience vein recanalization, the reopening of the closed blood vessel. Precisely guided by ultrasound, Sclerotherapy enlists the use of a foaming chemical agent that is injected into the vein. Sclerotherapy helps shrink and collapse the abnormal veins so blood no longer flows through them.
It’s important to remember that your varicose veins are an issue that take years to form and it may take weeks to months for us at Physicians Vein Clinics to resolve your symptoms. It is our firm desire to give you the best possible care by offering the most advanced treatments available for vein health.
