Does Insurance Pay for Vein Treatment?

At Physicians Vein Clinics, we are often asked by patients if insurance will pay to treat their varicose veins. In many cases insurance will help pay for treatment of veins as long as the veins are symptomatic. The most common symptoms are leg pain, aching, heaviness, fatigue, swelling, cramping and even restless legs. The symptoms will need to be affecting or limiting your life such as affecting your ability to do your job or do normal activities.

Many of the insurance companies may require you to do what is called conservative therapy. These include daily exercise, taking anti-inflammatories, wearing graduated compression stockings. The companies vary in the length of time that you are required to complete conservative treatment. Some companies will allow us to start improving your vein symptoms once we have completed documentation others will make you do conservative therapy for up to 3 months.

We will work with your insurance company to make sure we have completed all paperwork and conservative therapy so that you qualify for treatment under your insurance plan.
